A Little About Me

Hello!

My name is Sarah Kiss, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in the state of Colorado. I am excited to welcome you to my therapy practice. My journey to becoming a mental health therapist has been shaped by a unique blend of life experiences, including growing up in the U.S. and spending ten years abroad in Israel.

From 2015 to 2017, I served in the IDF as a combat medic alongside a team of medical professionals who inspired me to not only pursue learning how to treat physical wounds but focusing my attention on the non physical wounds that each person carries. These experiences have instilled in me the importance of community, emotional connection, and the mental strength that can develop through overcoming life’s challenges.

In 2020, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Reichman University in Herzliya, Israel, and went on to earn my Master’s degree in Applied Psychology; Mental Health and Wellness Counseling from New York University in 2023. My academic background and professional experience have equipped me to support clients in navigating a wide range of challenges, including neurodiversity, OCD, ADHD, anxiety, grief, depression, interpersonal conflict, communication issues, life transitions, and trauma responses.

In my work, I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I believe in the power of a co-pilot approach to therapy sessions where we work together to explore your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. My therapeutic style combines an eclectic mix of techniques, including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices. I aim to empower you to rewrite your story, understand the root causes of your struggles, and develop healthier thought patterns and coping mechanisms.

I recognize that every person’s journey is unique, and I tailor my approach to fit each individual’s needs. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply want to understand yourself better, my goal is to walk alongside you in your healing process and equip you with the tools to build a more fulfilling, balanced life.

My Ethos

At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for each person’s unique story. I welcome individuals, couples, and groups from all backgrounds, identities, and belief systems into a space that is warm, inclusive, and free of judgment.

I take the time to truly get to know you before tailoring my therapeutic approach to fit your specific needs, strengths, and goals. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, it's a collaborative process rooted in compassion, honesty, and trust.

I believe in empowering my clients to step into independence, take ownership of their growth, and show up authentically in their lives. My role is to walk beside you as you build the insight, resilience, and confidence to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms — to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.
